ReplyDeleteToday was my first day of boot camp. I actually thought it was fun! I had a great time, I got stronger every second. Sense said that our first lap in the morning was one minute and thirty four second, we did another lap at the end and It was one minute and twenty seconds! Boot camp was fun, but hard. I am looking forward to the next six weeks of boot camp!
ReplyDeleteKali
Today was my very first day of boot camp. I almost thought I wouldn’t make it on my mile, but I got 7:59 I am very sore, this will only get harder as we go. I think I’m going to be ok, I am looking forward to the next six weeks of boot camp. Boot camp was fun but hard.
ReplyDeleteKarlee
Yesterday was my first boot camp as a teenager (I turned thirteen on the thirteenth). It was strange not having my dad or brother there. I felt really good about my run, and I think this is going to be a great boot camp. Train hard, believe, and achieve!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was quite a way to kick off boot camp season. I'm very proud for all the candidates working as hard as they did. I can't wait to see what they'll be like next week.
ReplyDeleteThis boot camp is the 1st one I've ever done as a 1st degree candidate! It was very interesting when we played Leap Frog, a personal favorite game of mine,to do on grassy hills in the summer. Either boot camp is easier or I got stronger! I can't wait to see how I progress throughout the rest of the boot camps.
ReplyDeleteOWEN KELLY-Today the first day of boot camp!It was pretty tough time but I'll only get better! looking forward to next Saturday.

ReplyDeleteWhen I got first to my boot camp, I was nervous and cold because of the windy weather. It was my first day of Boot Camp. When we first got there I saw my friends so we walked around the lab circle and stretched. Then the running started I was nervous and tired on my second lap. I felt my throat burning and my lungs hurt . My legs felt like they were gonna rip off. I had no air after I was done, I was so happy to be over with it. After the run we start exercising we started doing kicks, runs fight sets and body drug line partners. We did crab walks together, back-to-back leapfrog, carrying bags a circle. It was fun and hard at the same time but I did. I'm looking forward for my next boot camp, and become stronger. Joanna Vederis
ReplyDeleteSaturday was the first boot camp. Like the last one I did the first one is always the hardest. I am a little more in shape now vs. last year.I was nervous for the first boot camp,but finished strong. Good luck to everyone who is testing, :}
ReplyDeleteThe first day of boot camp was fun. It was cold but it was still fun. My favorite part about the boot camp day 1 was when we did leapfrog. I also likes how hard i am training in boot camp. I hope we can do leapfrog on bootcamp day 2

ReplyDeleteWearing a Black Belt does not mean you are invincible... It means you never gave up, worked past the pain, overcame the disappointments, didn't cave into your doubts, faced your fears and learned enough to realize how little you actually know.

Posting for Colin Melvin-the first boot camp was an interesting experience. It definitely displayed the candidates in there current physical state which is good at the moment, but not course they will all get better. I myslef have seem to still be looking God but could get much better. So I'm anxious to see how much everyone will improve along with myself. Good work everyone and keep training hard.

ReplyDeleteIt was the second week of Boot Camp. It was harder than the first week ,,I couldn't breathe and the run was hard. I had tears in my eyes and a runny nose, my legs burned, and I was supper tired.
After run we were on the grass and did body draglines with partners. I was with Carly, we first did sprints, than we drag each other down and back, it wasn't easy. We worked with belts, we put belts on our waist then partners hold the edge by laying on your back waiting to be pulled. Next, we had partners to lay on the ground on their back, legs together, hands on your side than the other partner has to roll you down to the finish line and back. When we were finished we went to the dojo and practiced our self-defense and other moves we had learned. I was with Emma, we did tornado kicks, we named our team sparkly dragons team.Today was hard but I tried my best to succeed and at the same time it was very interesting. Joanna V.
Another great boot camp. Good job candidates and blackbelts. It was great to see the candidates practicing brakes allready since it is pretty important on the test. Although it may be hard for you, If you train hard you'll be able to do the brakes in no time. Just keep training and keep a positive attitude. :)

ReplyDeletethe second boot camp yesterday was considered fun to me. Even though I was up half the night before with nose bleeds and nightmares, in the morning i still had fun in boot camp even while I was tired.the rolling partners down and back was enjoyed. Riley was my partner. I finally beat my record in the run, I got 7:51 minutes, my old record was the first time I made a mile under eight minutes, it was 7:54. 3 seconds below my past times. the dragging partners with our belts really hurt though, and my back is red from a burn of the grass. besides that, it was great.
ReplyDeleteWhen we went to the Dojo to practice board breaking for our test was super fun! I always love to do the jumping front kick and ax kick. I need to work on my aim with the spinning hook kick though. I can't wait for the next, Believe and Achieve!

I'm very proud of all the candidates for the amazing progress they made this week. I think I can speak for everyone when I say when we were rolling, that was fun. Can't wait to see you guys next time, and as always, give your best!
ReplyDeleteOwen Kelly - todays boot camp was great! my mile time was 8:11 pretty close to what I need. My best time yet! hope my next time is even better!
ReplyDeleteI felt really good about teaching the candidates how to hold the pads. My run time was good, and I was happy that I've finally figured out how to change into my uniform in the car when we have to go back to the dojo. I'm happy that we have internet again this morning so I can post. Believe and Achieve -- we can do this!
ReplyDeleteBootcamp went really well. My practice paid off I felt really good on my self defenses and kicks. everyone did good.
ReplyDeletegood job. believe and achieve

Saturday was the second week of boot camp, I can already see improvements in my running and exercising. I got 7:58 a second better than last time! I am so very confident in boot camp and it just keeps getting better as I go.
ReplyDeletekarlee
Saturday was the second week f boot camp. I felt like I was getting better at my punches and keeping up my guard. I was more prepared this boot camp. when I had to drag donmaic while he was holding on to my belt I was hanging in there really hard, I cant wait tell I get my black belt!
ReplyDeletethat was from kali
DeleteThe second boot camp occurred on Saturday. Strangely, it felt as though there was already a noticeable improvement since the first; nonetheless, I was still glad to be able to take a shower afterwards. It is absolutely fascinating to see how much I've improved since I first joined karate. Hopefully, that improvement will continue.
ReplyDeleteHalfway through the boot camp cycle and there has been a lot of improvement. Keep up the good work candidates. I know that you all are capable of passing the mile. But it's just as Sensei said if you belive you can do it then you probably can. It's all in the head. So keep training hard. :)
ReplyDeleteI was very satisfied from this boot camp. I am very happy that the candidate's are looking better on their miles. I'm also very proud of how great all of their stances look. I can tell this is going to be a good group. See you all next time:).
ReplyDeleteI'm very ecstatic that at Boot Camp, on the second time, no less, I got a 7:03 mile, and I felt really proud about what I did. I'm really happy that all of those Candidates for Black Belt out there who tried and did their absolute hardest to complete the bear crawl around the track (who, by the way, did amazing on their first time doing it!) did one of the hardest things to do in Boot Camp. I can't wait to see what amazing Black Belts you can be when Boot Camp and the test are over. Keep up the good work, guys!
ReplyDeleteOwen Kelly - todays boot camp was great! my run time was 8:07. after our second mile run we bear-crawled one lap on the track. I was impressed at how every one made it, good job guys! Boot camp has been tough but I have managed to make it so far. Can't wait till next Saturday!
ReplyDeleteBootcamp on Saturday was a tough one. I was happy with myself after getting a 7:33 mile. Although the bear crawl was hard on me I felt I did good and so did everybody else.
ReplyDeleteKeep training hard candidates and black belts:)
Riley
Boot camp was super fun! Running the mile for the 1st time I got 7 minutes and 38 seconds! This means that I beat my record by about 15 seconds! On the 2nd mile run, I didn't succeed to beat it again. Bear crawling around the track was actually very fun for me. My brother and I race each other in the bear crawl position. Though my hands felt bruised afterward, I actually finshed 3rd. Can't wait for the next!
ReplyDeleteJoanna wrote her experience on the paper on Saturday may 29 after she was done with her 3rd week. We forgot to post it in the comment. Here is what she wrote:
ReplyDeleteIt's the third week at Boot Camp it gets harder every week. We started running, I was crying, I had runny nose, and pain exactly like last time I had. After the run we did what we do on fitness test, like push-ups, squats, and planks. I thought today would be easier but after finishing planks, we had to do another mile of run, I tried really hard but it was not easy. Then the worst part for me came, we had to do bear crawl on the track one circle. I had cuts in my hands and dust on my knees. I wanted to quit but I knew it's not the option for me. When we were done we went to the dojo, we practice our self defense and it was fun more fun than outside. When we were done I got an icee drink it made my body cool down quicker. I know it is hard but I have to try my best to finish what I started. Joanna Vederis.
Today was the third week of bootcamp, we ran two miles that day. we also did squats, pushups and a plague for five minutes. the hardest part was when we had to bearcrawl around the track once. my legs were so weak after. I'm looking forward to the next week of bootcamp.
ReplyDeletekarlee
Saturday was the 3rd week of boot camp. when we finished our mile we got water and then sensei told us we had to do another mile. Mr. joey was pushing me in my 2nd mile, it actually helped me. On our last lap at my mark point I ran like there was no tomorrow. I think I beat my first mile. thanks you Mr. joey for pushing me. we also had to do a bear crawl one lap around the track. that was fun for me, when I got to the end I was bear crawling so fast! I cant wait tell I get my black belt! see you next time!

This boot camp was one of my favorites because we got to use the new room and punch big bags. I also got one of my best run times ever -- under seven minutes! I'm really proud of everyone who shared their speeches. I realized that I need to work more on my new forms as a black belt. When I was working towards my other belts and I got stuck, I just went to class five days a week to help stick the forms in my head. I can't do that anymore. Luckily, even though my brother is focusing on Boy Scouts and earning his Eagle rank, he still has time to help me get the black belt forms stuck in my head so nerves can't push them out. We CAN do this!
ReplyDeleteToday's boot camp was great! I loved Traning at all the different the stations in the new room.Keep up the great work everyone. Mile times are definitely getting better. See you all next week :)
ReplyDeleteThis boot camp was awesome! all of the candidates looked great with their forms. I am also very pleased with their speeches. I know this group will not disappoint.
ReplyDeleteBoot camp was a really fun one. I could tell people have been practicing at home and giving their all at the dojo. keep working hard.
ReplyDeleteboot camp was a really hard yet fun one in my opinion. The K3 class we went through was no joke and it took a lot of my strength to get through but that just means I'll get stronger as well as everyone else who did really good. Seeing some good stuff out there, lets be sure to keep training hard for te next 2 boot camps.
ReplyDeleteIt was my fifth week at boot camp. We had a run and I pulled everything out of me to bit my 8 min time, but i ran 55 second longer, I got upset but at the same time I'm still not giving up. I like boot camp and I like to exercise with everyone. Joanna Vederis
ReplyDeletethis boot camp was the 5th. i beat my record of my fastest mile by 1 second. i am really excited for the next 2 boot camps. when we practiced our speeches i was proud to see how they were coming along. the work out room was tough, but i pushed through the exercises. can't wait to see eveyone next boot camp!
ReplyDeleteThe past 4 days of boot camp were exciting and The training was fun and good. I'm very excited for the next 2 last days of boot camp, they might not even be my 2 last days of boot camp if I fail, and I know failing is just part of learning. I don't have to be mad when I fail. I'm very excited for the next 2 Saturdays of boot camp.
ReplyDeletetoday was the fourth week of bootcamp it just keeps getting harder every time. but just keeps getting more fun. I'm excited for next boot camp and my next boot camp as well as my black belt test.best of luck to all.
ReplyDeletekarlee
saturaday boot camp, very hard. and everyone is improving. I think we have a good group of candites. I feel like I will get my black belt.
ReplyDeletekali
This boot camp was great! The candidates did so much better on their times for the mile. The breaks also looked fantastic! I'm getting good vibes from this group:)
ReplyDeleteBoot Camp today was awesome! I felt like I did really well on my board breaks, and not only that, but I got my very best mile time ever, 6:53! Everybody is doing much better on their run times than on the first couple of miles for Boot Camp. I now know after doing Boot Camp today, I will continue to work more on Black Belt forms so I can get better. Believe and Achieve!
ReplyDeleteGreat job today everyone. I saw some great great brakes from the candidates. Keep up the good work. Only one more boot camp to go so keep training hard and always think positive. :)
ReplyDeleteSaturdays boot camp was no.5 wow. it is going by really fast. my mile was a 7:40. good job to every one .
ReplyDeleteIt is truly wondrous to experience the radical changes in athletic ability that has occurred throughout the past five weeks. Before boot camp began I could never have imagined running a mile faster than eight minutes, I just was not the kind of person too be able to accomplish such feats. Joseph Campbell of the twentieth century wrote about how all heroes in any kind of story journey beyond their typical areas of comfort into a new, strange world. The heroes always face challenges in this special world, before returning forever changed to their original state. This pattern has been playing through without deviation through the past weeks. Surely, we were all reluctant to get up so early in the morning, add to that the exercise which we would be doing and you had a recipe for expectation of the awful. Sure enough, however, we pushed through the unique experience and are pushing through the the final steps in the special world, grasping at the door back to the norm. We will have undoubtedly changed, just as happens in Campbell's typical criteria of heroes.
ReplyDeleteWith the necessary philosophical portion finished, I am free to discuss the more objective side of the events occurring just yesterday. I ran easily the fastest mile that I have ever successfully ran, achieving a feat never before seen as achievable to any degree. It would be simply lackluster to describe every event such as the repetitious practice of the self-defenses, so I will merely abbreviate those in favor of the much more intriguing topic that is board breaking. I did much better than I thought I would, indeed I was worried about whether or not I would have difficulty on the 2-board thick breaks. That fear was for naught, however, as I broke such a thickness of boards effortlessly. The hindrance only arrived at when the boards were three-fold the originals, at which point I managed to break only half of the total boards possible. This was still greater than I thought that I would attain, demonstrating that you can always achieve more than you believe you can. Good luck to everyone in the upcoming boot camp, and even the subsequent test.

DeleteThe fifth boot camp was interesting to say the least. Seeing some great improvements on the run which is awesome, but seeing some improvement on forms and some of the self defense. This is the point where practicing at home becomes even more necessary, so I recommend everyone do it to make yourself better in forms, self defense, fight sts, and everything in between. Keep up the marvelous work everyone, just got one left. Keep training hard
ReplyDeletethis boot camp was number 5! only one more to go! i cant believe how fast it is going by. it sure was fun breaking boards and especially when Emma and i had to break two at a time. Training for the big test next week is exciting and though i know it will be challenging, i can't wait. the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. Great progress has been made on my forms and my self defenses. CAn't wait to see what this weeks boot camp is all about!
ReplyDeletethis bootcamp was number 5! I improved my mile by 20 seconds! we went straight from running to the dojo. we broke boards. I could not break the spinning hook kick! we have one more boot camp then its time for testing! I am very nervous and exsited. I have done better on my forms and self defenses. I wonder what were going to be doing on our last boot camp!
ReplyDeletekali whittier
this bootcamp was the 5th! it was hard we ran a mile and broke boards everyone keep trying hard and doing good only one more bootcamp to go
ReplyDeleteSo far Boot camp is good, as of this might be my last boot camp, I'll do my best and make this the best last day of boot camp and make sure I do my best as the next day is the Fitness Test.
ReplyDeletethis boot camp was the last one! I am excited to see improvements on everyone's runs. this time I achieved 7:42! not my very best, but i am still glad it was at least under eight minutes.
ReplyDeleteat the dojo i realized i need to practice my flag form a bit more, for i occasionally forget which side i start with and to improve on the rhythm and flow of the form. Great job to everyone today, and good luck tomorrow!
I enjoyed this last summer boot camp because we got to go over things that we hadn't gone over for a long time. I came home and practiced with Bryan, and that was good. I'm glad that I got under seven minutes again, and I was excited to see how well everyone was running. Good luck everyone, and I will see you tomorrow at the run!
ReplyDeleteMade it through this summer boot camp cycle. Good job everyone but your journey has just began. Now it's time for testing :) keep training hard and never give up.
ReplyDeleteThese last six weeks have been a new and unusual experience. Previously, practically the only time I would knowingly and willingly exercise was in school and every time I would show up for our classes. As such, the improvement has been immense. I would never have imagined being able to run comfortably under eight minute before. This shows that if you try hard enough, you can achieve anything. Good luck to everyone on the test!

DeleteWith the conclusion of boot camp, I'd like to give all the black belts and candidates a well earned congratulations. Take it easy this week and rest up for Friday and Saturday. Keep training hard!
ReplyDeleteThese last 6 boot camps have been really fun and challenging. Throughout boot camp I have learned that you just have to believe in your self and keep pushing. The fitness was one of my best everyone did a good job good luck to all of the candidates testing for their black belt and 1st degree candidates.
